Who Is the Program For?
- Module 2 is the second manual in a 5-part series. It is ideal for students in grade 1 and above, as well as for those who have difficulty reading and spelling multisyllabic words.
- Our affordable, user-friendly manuals are designed to help parents, tutors, and practitioners quickly and effectively bring students up to grade level.
What’s Included
- Every module has two versions, one for practitioners and another for students.
- Links to extra resources help enhance practitioners' understanding of the science of reading.
Lesson Content and Structure
- The lessons in Module 2 (26-51) build upon the foundation laid in Module 1, ensuring a continuous and comprehensive learning experience. These evidence-based, sequential lessons cover critical reading and spelling skills—such as phonemic awareness, letter recognition, letter formation, phonics, decoding (blending), encoding (spelling), fluency, and high-frequency words.
- In Module 2, clear, step-by-step lessons make new concepts easy to understand, build students’ confidence, and celebrate progress. Each lesson typically focuses on one sound and spelling, such as short u or e (spelled e or ea); consonants (z, l, _le, y, w, k, or j); /er/ (spelled er, ir, or ur); long a (spelled a or a_e); consonant digraphs /sh/ and /th/; consonant trigraphs /ch/ and /j/ (spelled tch or dge); or the schwa sound. Frequent review and practice of earlier skills help students master the material, so you can keep moving forward instead of waiting for complete mastery of every skill in a single lesson.
- Words and sentences that students read and spell increase in complexity from one lesson to the next. By Lesson 51, students can read and spell CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words such as get, hut, mud, and zip— one-syllable words (crust, head, loft, next, yard) — /er/ words (sister, first, curb) — long a words (table, gaze) — consonant digraphs and trigraphs (dish, thick, lunch, catch, judge) — and two-syllable, schwa words (garden, mother, carrot).
- English sounds and spellings are taught in sequential order from the most common to the least common.
- The dynamic lessons systematically increase in complexity.
- Lessons include decodable stories and poems at different reading levels, so that every student can succeed. These engaging texts captivate students' interest and reinforce new concepts and previously taught skills and strategies, promoting lasting retention.
- Creative writing lessons start in Module 2, Lesson 30, and support the development of written expression.
- Cumulative word lists at the end of each lesson provide additional practice and opportunities for students ready for a challenge.
- Helpful tips for English learners are included throughout the program to support success at every step.
- Our printable Sound/Spelling Cards and Elkonin Tokens and Boxes make each Marvi’s Way® lesson easier and more fun to learn. These tools help students build skills and confidence quickly—and you can use them to create games that make practice enjoyable!

“I work with students who have dyslexia. This is a game-changer. For years, I have had to use multiple programs/resources to achieve the same outcome that this program provides, or had to create my own. It saves time since it has it all in one place. This program includes phonemic awareness, phonological awareness, letter-sound correspondence, grammar, writing, dictation, and reading comprehension. It is based on how children learn to read and encompasses all the components they need to become proficient readers.
