Module 1, Lessons 1-25

Please note:

1) Module 1 is the first manual in a 5-part series. It’s perfect for students in grade 1 and above, especially those who find reading and spelling longer words difficult.

2) If your student needs extra help, you can use Module 1 (and Module 2) together with the Novice Program. This flexible approach helps older students catch up to grade level more quickly and confidently.

3) Module 1 offers easy, step-by-step lessons that build students’ confidence and celebrate their progress. Each lesson focuses on one sound and spelling—like a short vowel (a, i, or o), a consonant (m, t, h, p, n, c, d, s, b, r, f, g, or x), or special letter combinations (vowel and consonant digraphs ar, ck).

4) Words and sentences that students read and spell increase in complexity from one lesson to the next. By Lesson 25, students can read and spell CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words such as map, bin, rod, and fix; one-syllable words (camp, hand, stand, drift); vowel and consonant digraphs (farm, scarf, back, trick); and two-syllable words (ticket, backpack, apart).
